We got up at about 4:30 am to get ready to meet J.C. and Bev before 6:00 am to drive to Fountain Hills so that we would arrive before sunrise, which is at about 7:06 am. We made it and got set up with our blankets to watch the festivities, but found that many were there before we arrived. No problem with parking since we arrived earlier than many. It was kind of cool that early, but we survived. There was quite a bit of activity before dawn, but things really picked up as we approached sunrise.
It was about that time that I got into my photography mode and was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. I did, however, manage to get some pretty good shots of what was happening as they progressed toward launch. I think that it would be great fun to be a part of that action. Imagine the pictures that I could take from one of those things.
There was a major upscale arts and crafts show going on, which we attended after the balloon festival. I'll do another post with pictures from that. Great fun!!!
