Wow, finally got time to stop and take a deep breath! We have had a wonderful past few days enjoying time with family and friends. We were so blessed on Christmas day as we had our own time together in the early morning and then went inside the house to enjoy time with the 'Fiscus' family. Larry made 'huevos rancheros' for everyone for breakfast, delicious! We exchanged gifts and then came back home to shower and head to the kids.

After exchanging our gifts with them, we loaded up the truck to head for Beaver, Arizona to sister Joyce's home. We normally use Mesquite in referring to her home, but she actually resides in Arizona, about 10 miles outside of town. The weather was threatening rain and snow, so we took all of our food, gifts and baby walker/things in totes and large plastic bags to keep them dry. Good thing!

There was a rain/lightening storm big time! In fact, Larry and Tawnia were stuck in the truck (feeding Jasmine) and had to stay put for some time as it was pouring! So much noise and bodies in the house, just made it easier to go sit in the quiet of the truck, LOL.

We arrived in time to enjoy a wonderful meal, and best of all I didn't have to cook it! Well, except for the ham I prepared in the morning to share. We all enjoyed ham and turkey will all of the normal trimmings, yummy...there was one salad I have never had before, made with pomegranate and berries in a whipped cream dressing of some type, very good. And we had assorted pies and cheesecake for dessert. And of course some of sister Elaine's fudge, the best you'll ever have!

Speaking of sister Elaine, she was the only one of the four girls not here for Christmas. We missed her very much, but understood she needed to stay home in Riverside with her family. My nephew Michael is home from the Army for the holidays. He will ship out again in January, special forces. We are all very proud of him and his service to our country.

We headed for home about 10pm with Jasmine fast asleep in the back seat and her daddy asleep in the front seat. Tawnia and I got to actually visit for a change as we drove the 100 miles back. Nice to catch up a bit. They made a quick trip to Vancouver, BC to visit her family over the past weekend. A Christmas surprise for her Dad...a pleasant one indeed!

So that's it for now. We're settling back into our routine, trying to eat up all the goodies around here before Larry goes into hospital for his knee surgery on Tuesday. We'll be playing with our new 'toys' over the weekend, enjoying ourselves for sure. Hope you enjoy your weekend as well....good night.
