Tales of Blue Aweigh travel blog

Yep, it's snowing. Still dark at 7:30 a.m.

Didn't expect this much!

Victoria in the fall

Tripping up Government Street, the main road through downtown

Notice the water in the harbor

A really beautiful morning despite the cold.

One of our favorite restaurants already had icicles

So we're outta here....They say it almost never snows in Victoria, B.C. Lucky us! We woke up Sunday morning to 6". We got on our snow gear, grabbed the camera and headed to mass at 8 a.m. which was before most people and cars had a chance to muck things up. It snowed most of the morning but it is the wind chill that made us expecially cold. There were winds reported at 50+ kts just 2 miles outside the harbor. Fortunately, the inner harbor in Victoria where Blue Aweigh sits is very protected in comparison. The best part...winter hasn't started yet! (What the ?xlj!@# were we thinking?) Make no mistake though, it' really beautiful here.

We left B.C. this morning with the water frozen around our hull. There was a seagull that was walking on the water. We(Mike)is driving along the 101 and nearing the Olympia, WA area as we head home for Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing our kids, family, friends and temps above 40F.

Will update soon with some warmer looking attire!
