Noosa is beautiful

Having collected our car, a lovely buttercup yellow, Hyundai...Heidi, we made our way north to Noosa. Noosa is about 2 hrs north of Brisbane and is situated on Queenslands Sunshine Coast. Noosa came highly recommended by Diane...so we have to say a big thank you, it is a beautiful place.

We arrived, parked Heidi and headed to the free information service, we explained that we were looking for somewhere to stay and the assistant gave us a list of options. Unfortunately, the YHA was booked up and the next cheapest option was an apartment costing $89, situated 10 mins from town. We agreed to take the apartment and went to check in, the apartment was lovely and huge, Chris said it reminded him of neighbours! We had a lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, it was immaculate but soooo hot!

Having changed into our swimwear, grabbed our towels and sun tan cream we made our way to the beach. The beach in Noosa is fantastic, white sands and big waves..lots of surfers and a great atmosphere.

Noosa is in our opinion the Beaconsfield of the sunshine coast...lots of money, expensive shops and luxury bars and restaurants.

We decided that an apartment away from bars and restaurants was probably a good thing as would stop us from eating and drinking away the budget....instead we cooked pasta and tomato sauce (how exciting) and drank from a 4L box of wine we bought for $12 (about 5 pounds!) Having asked Chris to check every part of the apartment for BUGS when we first arrived, i had just started to relax about 10pm...when the most enormous (3 inches) cockroach crawled along the carpet in front of us, i nearly died! Chris being Chris kept it inside a glass for about 10 mins looking at it!

The next morning, we checked out early and headed for the beach to make the most of the very hot sun! We spent most of the day at the beach, weather was brilliant about 30 degrees...and the waves were so much fun, we had a really good day. At about 4pm, we dragged ourselves away from the beach and started our drive to Hervey Bay and our room for the night at the YHA...
