Fri 8-22

Said our goodbyes this morning to our friends in Valdez. Pulled out under a light fog, with spots of blue sky breaking through. Had sun shine as we topped Thompson Pass and said goodbye to Worthington Glacier. We’re heading north for Glenallen and the Tok Cutoff heading for the Alcan highway. Spent the night at Gardenia Creek in the rain, but still had a nice campfire and did a little Graying fishing with no success. Water was really high with all the rain and kind of muddy.

Sat. The 23rd. Moved up the road through customs at the Canadian border and on east toward Whitehorse. Spent the night along the road at the same spot we stopped coming up in June.

Sun. 8-24

Arrived Watson Lake this afternoon, checked into the Downtowner Campgound, with WiFi, and cable TV. Our XM radio began working again this morning, so that means we're getting closer to civilization.

Tomorrow more of the same, we have a lot of miles to cover over the next few days.
