Eastern Europe & Italy 2008 travel blog

Today I escaped the heat of the Veneto and headed up into the Italian Alps. Bolzano is a bit cooler, but still pretty warm. I'm feeling kind of crappy, so it was a pretty low-key day. It must be from running around in the heat yesterday, I could be a bit dehydrated. I've been here before a few years ago, so didn't feel the need to go off and explore. The only thing I did go see was the "Ice Man" - a preserved 5,000 year old man who was found in a glacier not far from here. He is remarkably well preserved, including his clothes and hair. He's kept in a climatically controlled glass box so he doesn't decompose. I didn't take any pictures here, mostly because I just didn't feel like it. It's a nice enough town, but a bit touristy. Tomorrow I am catching an early bus for the hour ride up to Castelrotto.
