Ok, onto PA and Buffalo, NY; we travelled from Cleveland through the NW corner of Pennslyvania and then onto Buffalo, NY where we stayed on Grand Island. We explored the downtown area which was quite old, struggling somewhat yet so grand and beautiful in its own right. Many older brick buildings with a very active government sector and some financial and many local businesses. We were able to visit the one and only Niagara Falls, NY which also defintely lived up to its hype. The awesome raw power of these Falls is undescribable. Even though 80 percent of the water is diverted for hydropower and to save the falls rocks from prematurely eroding, it still is more water than you will see anywhere else in North America. The Canadian side has built up extensively over the past few years with Casino, Hotels and Tourist spots. Again, the U.S. side is struggling with unemployment as industrial and manufacturing jobs have gone elsewhere. We thourghly enjoyed our time in and around the Buffalo area, we stopped by the local pub and learned many things about the city as well as past political issues and where things might be headed in the future. Each town has it's own personality and Buffalo was no exception, they love their Football Team (The Bills) and put up with their Winters; so there must be something to keep them in the City by the Lake. Enjoy the pictures and let us know how you Summer of 2008 went and what you might have for travel plans for the rest of the year.
