Low tide at the start of Abel Tasman

While waiting to hear back from potential employers I finally got sick of sitting around Nelson and decided to head out to Abel Tasman National Park. On sunday I signed up for an all day kayaking trip. We took a boat out to a beach along the marine reserve and got into our kayaks there. We started out paddling around the Tonga Island reserve, which is home to fur seals and even a few penguins. We then paddled for about an hour south to a beach where we stopped for lunch. The second half of the day was a 2.5 hour guided walk to a spot where we met the water taxi again for the return trip. On Monday I walked the bottom half of the park which was a six hour round trip. Abel Tasman was an amazing place and it helped take my mind away from the fact that I still need to find a job. I do however have an interview on thursday in Christchurch.
