After a small change in plans I am now in Nelson instead of Blenhiem. When I tried to go to Blenheim I had trouble finding a place to stay and I was worried about just showing up on the bus with no place to stay. So here I am in Nelson trying yet again to find a job. With the extra time I spent in Picton I got to do a little hiking once the sun came out. I did the bay walk and most of the snout trail walk, which looked out over all of Picton harbor and then followed the peninsula to a lookout with views of the Marlborough Sounds. I got into Nelson yesterday and found a great backpackers that is defiantly the best I have stayed in and is only $22NZ a night. This place is really clean and looks more like a luxury hotel, except that I am sharing a room with 5 other people. Last night I went out with three of my roommates from England and had a few of the local beers, all of which are really good. Today, my first full day in Nelson, I took a walk to Founders Park and instead took the walk to the center of New Zealand. The views from the top where pretty amazing, overlooking Tasman bay, Nelson and adding some snow capped mountains in the background. Overall it was a good day but the lack of work is starting to worry me. I have a few leads so hopefully one of them will pay off.
