Our Celebration Trip - Alaska 2008 travel blog

Alaska/ Canada border Yukon Territory

Well folks, it’s payback time. It rained all day long. We left Beaver Creek, YT at 7:15AM and finally arrived at the Information Center in Tok, AK, which is a distance of about 100 miles, at 11:30AM.

The frost heaves and the road construction really slowed us down. We only once reached above 50 mph in all that way. Those big yellow machines are not my favorite things when they are so close.

When driving from Tok south on the Glen Highway we spotted a cow moose and her calf.

We are now in Gakona, AL and only a couple of RV’s here. A motorcycle couple rented the 5th wheel the park has available for that purpose. Joan & Howard are busy reading the info they picked up in Tok to determine where I will direct them to tomorrow. Yup, it’s still raining.
