|Hey everyone, yes I am still alive. I know I have not posted anything for a few days but I have had absolutely nothing to post since I got here to National Park. it has rained every single day that I have been here which is good for the mountain because they finally got the snow they needed to get operations going but for me sitting in National Park with no ski equipment and rain everyday it has sucked. My days have consisted of working out a little, reading, eating, walking to the gas station/market and watching movies. I have been trying to find work but in a town of 800 people there really is nothing to be found. I sent my resume up to the Bayview chateau and I am going to talk to them tomorrow so hopefully I can find something with them. If not I am planning on moving along to the next place on Wednesday or so. I decided to post something because today the weather finally was nice and I got to get out and do a little hiking. I walked the Tupapakurua falls track which is just west of National Park village, where I am staying. It was about 3.2 km to Taranaki lookout which are some of the first pictures that I put up. From Taranaki lookout it was another hour climb to Tupapakurua falls lookout, which are the next set of pictures. All together the hike took me about 4 hours from my hotel and back. The views at both of the lookouts were amazing as you can see from the pictures and well worth the grueling hike. The last set of pictures I took on the walk to the gas station and show Hauhungatahi, Mt. Ruapehu, Mt. Ngauruhoe and Mt. Tongariro.
