WEARING OF THE CAKE

ANDY, MARINA,AND BECKY SMITH WITH MR. & MRS. DONOHO

Wow, what a day. We had planned to go to Miss. today, but it didn’t happen. We are now in Tallahassee, Fl. While in Spring Hill, Fl., our front a/c quit cooling. After getting on the road, we found a Camping World with easy access from I-10. They got us in right away and said we needed a new a/c. So we are now in their parking lot with electric and water. We will hit the road early tomorrow to make up for time lost today. But we are cold now!

While we were in Spring Hill, we attended a niece’s wedding- Sarah Smith and Andrew Donoho. The wedding was held outdoors at Crews Lake Park which was a beautiful setting. Out of town guests on Sarah’s side of family were Skip and Cindy, Wayne and Evelyn Smith (Cindy’s older brother and sister-in-law) and Marie Smith, who is Cindy’s mother.

The ceremony was simple and elegant in a southern style. It all began with the beautiful flower girl, Marina, scattering white rose petals down the path. Everything was going great until the ring bearer, Joshua , who is Sarah’s little brother, dropped one of the rings by accident and about panicked, but all worked out well and the union was completed.

The reception was also held at the park. The main dish was bar-b-que Florida style. It was a wild hog and was smoked as well as slow cooked on a homemade cooker. It was different but tasty. Also, there were hamburgers and hot dogs and some of the best baked beans we have ever tasted. After the cutting of and wearing of the cake and the traditional toast to the bride and groom, a booming thunderstorm came up and all festivities ended.
