Geoff and his rafting team!

Jo and I ready to rock and roll

No rest for the wicked as we were up and away again at 8am (better than the 6am!) today to start our white water rafting adventure (class 2, 3, 4 and 5 rapids)! It was an amazing 4 hour drive! Not sure how to describe it!? Long, slow, bumpy, dirt roads, tight corners, (and lots of them!), steep cliffs... very scary at times! Once there we had lunch and then got all our kit sorted! Wetsuits with shorts over the wetsuit for grip, spray jackets, lifejacket, helmet, all ready to go! Safety briefing over we got on the water to give it all a go! Raft 1: Geoff, Tomas, Lisa and Vicky (guides: Frank the gymnast and Monkey). Raft 2: Myself, Jo, Alison, Bruce and Yanny (guide: Jesus). With Santiago on the safety kayak we practiced how he would rescue us, swam down a bit of the river then on our rafts we flipped and rescued each other. All good, bring it on! We rafted for just over an hour and a half to our first campsite and it was all pretty tame. Good fun and ready for day 2 where we would step it up a notch or two!

The campsite was right on the side of the river and the cargo boat (Christian and Martin in control of it) with all our gear and the tents and food etc was unloaded and we set up camp! More fantastic food and a few beers around the campsite before crashing out ready for day 2!
