Sam and Angela's Excellent World Adventure travel blog

We arrived in Camboriu after a short journey up the coast. Really nice city, bit like a mini Rio and even has a Christ statue over looking the city. 200,000 people and just 40 years old so everything is shiny and new looking! Arrived at Trevors and received a warm welcome. Spent a few weeks hanging out there, meet lots of locals who looked after us and showed us the sights. We got driven to many beaches, went swimming, snorkelling (saw lots of fish)and deepened our tans!! We were looked after equally well at night, as one of our new friends seemed to know all the club promoters, so VIP treatment all round!! The people in Camboriu actually love the English accent, and we were asked to speak english to every Tom,Dick and Harry we met! Most of the Brazilians there were also blonde, so we fitted in nicely!!! After 3 and a bit weeks we decided we should visit a small Island further north. So we got on a bus to a town called Curitiba, stayed overnight in a tasty hotel, then hopped on a train through the Atlantic Forest (big jungle!) to a port called Paranagua. The train ride was 3.5 hours long, and takes you through some of Brazil's most amazing scenery.Unfortunately, we didn't see any as it was pissing down the whole journey and clouds blocked our views!!!! From there we caught a ferry to our next destination.....
