The Pellegrini's are home tired and happy after five months on the road, almost 10,000 miles on the motorhome and way too many adventures to remember. After traveling through the Central Valley the Dolphin looks like we have been in a paint ball fight - bugs! We spent over two weeks visiting family in Arizona and California coming home. And stopped for lunch with our "Evans family" in Yreka.
I kept a record of restaurants and new foods - a list way too long for now. But here are some of the highlights: Whataburger is all over the South, Friedhams Bavarian Inn in Fredericksburg, The Mercado in San Antonio, po boys at Johnny's in New Orleans, beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe du Monde, Lamberts throwed rolls in Alabama, conch fritters at Alabama Jacks in Key Largo. Some different things we tried: boiled peanuts (ugh), pralenes, gumbo, aligator nuggets, shrimp staufee, fried dill pickles, wild pecan rice, King cake for Mardi Gras, aligator sausage, crawdads (keep thinking little lobsters), boudin sausage, Blue Bell ice cream, sweet tea.
The very best was the great fellow travelers we consider now as family. This is a great way to travel - even with the terrible gas prices. This is our third big trip with the Fines and the Evans. Thanks so much guys!
