On Sunday morning we got up, got dressed and went to the 8am service at our home church. There we gave thanks for the many opportunities that had opened to us this year. We gave thanks for the opportunity of having our RV traveling dreams come true. We gave thanks for the opportunity of seeing new places and experiencing new things. The opportunity of meeting the most wonderful new people all winter, especially our many friends at Hatch. The opportunity of returning to our home and the reunion of all our dear friends here which is a work in process.
Right after church we hightailed it to the "Two Sisters" for breakfast and the hope that Roger may show. We should have e-mailed him so will now have to wait a bit before saying hello face to face.
Then the day was filled with picking out the necessary stuff from the trailer and moving to the cottage.
We slept there Sunday night so that's as moved in as you can get, Yes, we are HOME.
But before all the reunions we have WORK to do!
As you will notice as you browse Rita's photos , the several Freezing Rain Storms that the Island experienced last winter are still showing their fury to us by leaving destruction in almost all corners of our property.
As we have discovered (actually we always new), we have the most wonderful Son and his precious family. Seeing the impossibility of Rita and I driving down our lane to home, Jay, Kathy, Jocelyn and Alycia took it upon themselves to spend two weeks of their precious quality time and spend it on us. They cleaned out the Lane! The pictures confirm the enormous task of doing the job and we love them for going out of their way for Nanny and Poppy.
My suspicions were aroused last winter when Jay phoned me in Texas and asked "Dad, where did you store your chain saw?" I just replied "Oh, Oh !"
I have a few days before returning to work for a summer contract and will be pushing on the priority work pretty steady until that time.
Anyone who is in the area this summer please drop in. If we haven't got all the picking up done you can help and we can sit on the front porch to enjoy what the Lord has given us.
By the way all those who have been 'HeyU followers' he is so overjoyed with being home that he started bugging us to get up Monday morning at about 5am. I threw everything I could find at him but it didn't matter. He had places to go and things to do!
He has had his harness of 5 months removed so he is stalking through the fields and woods naked as a cat. (Ha, Ha, thought I was going to say something else, eh?) Trying to catch a nice fat mouse to bring home to Mommie.
At the start of this venture I should have asked you to rate the Updates. Nan drew it to our attention awhile ago that the entries have a rating section at the end of the Logs. If you would wish you could do that but the most important thing was that we were in contact.
Y'all have a nice summer, hear?
Tom, Rita............and HeyU.
