Glenn &Terri destination Darwin travel blog

Sunday 13th April...woke up to a heavy mist and moisture dripping off everything....this ain't right, it's golf today. Terri was up early off making videos and I stayed under the rugs for another 1/2 hour. Eventually up and dressed, having breakfast. Went to do another load of washing (did one the previous night) and wouldn't you know it, the only washing machine in the place has died. We only come here to do our laundry.

Sun was breaking thru' so looking good for golf. Headed into town, parked and wandered into a very busy mall. Very active for a Sunday, street vendors, buskers and all the shops and cafes busy, busy. Sat down for a bit of lunch and watched the world go by. Left Terri to it and drove out to the golf club....the most difficult golf club in the world to find. Literally had to drive down a lane to find the gate. arrived there with some ominous black clouds rolloing in. This can't be good. Almost my tee off time and some serious lightning right over the course. The pro blew the lightning hooter...everyone off the course. Then the rain came in buckets. I thought about pulling out but there seemed to be an air of optimism about....these golfers, forever the optimists. About 1.30 the pro blew the all clear and we were off. Turned out a nice sunny day. Very weird playing golf with trains thundering across the course overhead.....a railway bridge right over the course. Also, on a couple of holes you have to spray your balls (?) with aeroguard to stop the crows from pinching them.....really!!

Anyway, a nice course and some good company. Almost dark when I finished, so into the car and back to town to meet Terri and a quick meal of curried mango chicken...yum! Terri spent the day sightseeing and picking up a few bargains in the mall.

Back to the park to do some laundry and give the drier a workout...the rain is back.

Heading out to Lower Portland tomorrow, may not be a blog for a few days because of weak or no signal out there....stay tuned.
