We are about 30 miles south of Memphis, a somewhat rapid exit from that city after Don and Bonnie's problems.
Say you're right on the border of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. And there are storm watches for heavy rain, lightening, hail and possible tornados. And the Mississippi River is cresting while it is raining upstream. Where do you go? To Tunica, of course, where there are ten casinos within a five mile radius. Several rv parks with parking on pavement so there is plenty of water, but not mud. And those great big buildings in case of a tornado. Something to do while the rain is pounding. And lots of choices for eating out. Can even catch up the laundry if forced. Sounds like a winner. That's how we arrived at Hollywood Casino. The rain did come pouring down, and the lightening really boomed over us- we lucked out on the hail and the tornado which hammered a little town about 30 miles away. And the river just kept rollin along. Our "evacuation plans" varied from setting out the passports, money, cameras, gps and meds to "Fiddle-dee-dee. I'll worry about that later." Another adventure!
Happy Birthday to Bonnie on April 4th! The Fines treated the Trekies to buffet at the Horseshoe Casino. It was crab and lobster night - we all agreed a very good buffet - yum yum!
