Pumpking Pie, Pretty as a Picture

Friday, we drove from Kingsburg about three hours north to Elk Grove, CA a suburb of Sacramento. It seems to be a bedroom community consisting primarily of large homes and shopping malls. We set up camp at the WAG agility site, ready for the weekend’s fun. It is a really nice facility with good camping and a covered arena as well as several fenced, grassy fields.

Agility went really well on Saturday with Midas having a qualifying run in Hoopers and a clean but slightly over SCT run in Chances. He is really enjoying agility this year. Reba and Fran made qualifying runs in Hoopers and Tunnellers. She almost Q’d in Jumpers, too, but knocked the very last bar down! Gino and I had qualifying runs in Regular Agility and Tunnellers finishing off both his Open Agility and Novice Tunnellers titles. He wasn’t running with much enthusiasm, but did follow direction well. The day started out quite cool, but warmed up nicely later in the day so we moved the last two runs of the day outdoors. It was really hot sitting in the sun. Katie and Ken watched and helped out. They made both lunch and supper too, so that was sure nice.

Sunday was another excellent day. It was Reba’s turn to shine as she made three qualifying runs: Regular Agility, Touch N Go and Jumpers. Gino made two qualifying runs: Regular Agility and Touch N Go and Midas made one qualifying run in Hoopers for his Novice Hoopers Title. Gino finished his title in Novice Touch N Go.

The people were really nice and the facilities super. They were small trials each day, but that was nice, too as we finished up early in the afternoon.

We cooked a turkey supper with all the trimmings for supper. Pumpkin pie, too!
