Kyla and Nick Around the World travel blog

It was a very sad goodbye in Luang Prabang this morning, as our new good friends and Laotian brothers Somboun, and Chue Yang met us at the bus station with another friend to say farewell. We had a wonderful time in LP, and were very glad to meet our new friends.

Once we have some time in Chiang Mai, Thailand, we will put lots of pictures up from our time in Laos. Tomorrow we depart for a 3 day trek in the hills (with a guide and another couple, and organized by a reputable company, so don't worry parents!) that will take us to a Khmu village and an Akha village. They are two of the many different tribes that live in Laos - our new friends in Luang Prabang are from the Hmong tribe.

We would also like to thank the staff at Big Brother Mouse, and Link especially, for everything they did for us. We had an amazing experience with the Book Party at the village school. Once again, once we have some more time we will add photos and stories from that day. In the meantime, we'll just say "Khop jai lai lai!" to everyone there.
