Bridget's Trip! travel blog

Claudine and I left Bloemfontein about 5.30pm to head to Ladybrand and her parents farm which is on the border of Lesotho so handy for our early start tomorrow to get across the border. We got to the farm about 6.30pm or so. Not long after the power went out - had to happen while I was in the bathroom of course! Good job I had been before and could feel for the toilet roll! Scom - that power company here - are load shedding which is very annoying as there are two hour power cuts most days and in some areas 2 or 3 times a day! Fortunately at the farm they have a generator because of milking the cows so we sat with our torches and waited for Pip to get it started. Had homemade bread and jam for supper - couldn't use stove to cook because of the power it would take from the generator! We then watched Prime - funny film but with a crappy ending! Claudine and I stayed up later than we should have as I was chatting to mum online and she was watching TV.

Was lovely being back at the farm - feels like home!!!
