Papagayo Peninsula

Canyoning....What a Thrill!

Playing in the Waterfall

Monkey Tracks on the Beach

Oh, life is wonderful at the Four Seasons Papagayo Peninsula! That is where the first part of this (3rd) journey to Costa Rica began. I flew into Liberia and was whisked away to the slice of heaven on the tip of the peninsula. We swam, ate, and, yes, even hung upside down in the middle of a canyon. I even got a lesson from the Four Seasons pastry chef!

After three days there, I headed back to the Liberia airport for what I thought would be a short flight to visit friends in San Jose. However, our pilot missed the runway in San Jose and because of low fog, headed back to Liberia rather than taking us to San Jose. Three other enterprising travelers and myself decided not to wait for the next morning's flight, but to drive the 4+ hours to San Jose in the pouring rain. I will never forget that night or that drive. To my traveling companions, Pura Vida!

I had a wonderful visit with friends and after many delays in San Jose, made it back home...

Pura Vida!
