Hi Everyone,

Our last day here in Beijing. We woke early and went to see the Summer Palace, absolutely beautiful, set on a large lake. Last night we saw a Peking Opera and it was wonderful! The costumes and music so different and fantastic. On our way to the airport we drove by the Olympic Stadium building, they call it the "Birds Nest" We are absolutely in awe of all the building going on! By the way the pollution was not at all bad. On our way to Xi'an, more later.

China, so far, has been a mind blower. We really didn't know what to expect of Beijing, you mostly think of the Forbidden City , Wall, etc. But WOW this is a booming metropolis. The national bird , "the Crane" is everywhere. Everywhere we look there are highrise condos or offices etc. Having a blast!
