By pure chance, whilst reading the free london newspaper on the Underground on the way home from the Mousetrap play, I came across a little note saying that Jamie Oliver was doing a book signing for his new book launch, Jamie At Home at 12pm the following day in the Borough Market. How very fortuitous as not only had I loved the series when it was on in Oz, but I really wanted to book and it seemed too great an opportunity to pass up to buy it and have him sign it as well. So come thursday morning I made a special effort to wake up early enough to get in there and line up. And line up I did, apparently with a lot of other aussies and came away with two signed books and these photos. Unfortunately he had his eyes closed when it was the two of us posing but he was really friendly and made an effort to have a chat with each person in line.
After that bit of excitement, I headed off along the Thames Path along the river to go see Big Ben, passing the London Eye and other tourist attractions on the way. But Big Ben was my main goal and even though it wasn't chiming when I was there, seeing it and Westminster was pretty impressive. Lovely old buildings.
