Time to head off to Show Low, Az. Show Low is a popular summer spot for the Phoenix/Tucson crowd to escape the summer heat.

Show Low, the commercial and tourism hub of the White Mountains. Located in southern Navajo County at an elevation of 6,350 feet, the city is 175 miles northeast of Phoenix and 195 miles north of Tucson. Show Low received its name when C.E. Cooley and Marion Clark decided there was not enough room for both of them in their settlement. The two men agreed to let a game of cards decide who was to move. According to the story, Clark said, "If you can show low, you win." Cooley turned up the deuce of clubs and replied, "Show low it is." Well that's the way I heard it anyway.

We returned home on the 6th of September.

Thanks to all of you for following along with us on this almost 4 months of wanderings and meanderings. We enjoyed our visits with family and friends. We thank all of you who were able to extend an invitation to us to stay. The many comments and emails were much appreciated.

During this journey we experienced many spectacular and wondrous things such as the rocket rail ride on the Florance, OR sand dunes. The jet boat ride up the Snake River. The RV rally at Redmond, OR. Our visits to our national parks and monuments will never be forgotten, especially the white knuckle jeep ride down the Shaffer trail to the bottom of the canyon. The few days in Bluff, Ut where we stayed at the Cadillac RV Park and played with the baby miniature donkey. Our friends in Canada were gracious hosts who took time to show us the sights. We can't forget to mention the excitement of the Calgary Stampede and all that was going on around Calgary during that week.

Annie the Doggies and I had a wonderful time and great experience. We look forward to the next trip which will be the Maritimes in 08.
