Larry & his childhood friend Jim, they had a wonderful evening catching...

Woke up this morning to a warm, almost muggy day. The skies are hazy with hardly a speck of blue in them. That does not make for nice pics. I keep asking Larry if it is going to continue to be this way & he says probably until it rains. So, I wish it would rain & clear this air up! Such a shame because it is truly pretty in Pennsylvania.

We had a nice breakfast & then headed out for our last day of finding Larry's old haunts. Today we made what turned out to be a 5 hour round trip to Oil City. This was the town where Larry attended 2 years of high school & the final home he lived in with his parents. 50 years later, the town is in need of some drastic TLC. It was almost depressing. I can certainly understand why Larry was anxious to move to California for his Senior year. Nevertheless, this has been a desire of his for many years so I am glad it came to fruition.

After we returned home, Larry took a short snooze & then he left to go meet a friend he has not seen since 1956! He was a wee bit nervous about having much in common to talk about, but I hear it was just like they had seen each other yesterday. I chose to stay home with Onyx & let the guys reminisce for as long as they wanted to. I would have liked to have met Jim, but maybe next time. 6 hours later my hubby returned, with stories of what a nice guy he is. He thoroughly enjoyed his evening.

We planned to leave in the morning but have decided to stay over until Sunday. Laundry needs done & we could really use a day of rest. And, Onyx needs a bath. So, we'll be heading toward Niagara Falls on Sunday morning. Don't know how far we'll get. I'll let you know!
