On Tuesday, we moved about 40-some miles to the Monterey Bay; with the move from inland to the coast, the temperatures dropped 30-some degrees. Our timing was perfect: just when Morgan Hill (and Walnut Creek) reached 100 degrees, we're at Marina Dunes where the high was 68.

When we arrived at the freeway exit next to the rv park in Marina, traffic was backed-up and police and other official vehicles/uniforms were everywhere. We eventually got the news that there had been a shark attack on the beach adjacent to the rv park (and it was the lead story on every local news report, plus it made many national reports).

On Wednesday, we played golf at the municipal course in Pacific Grove; it's known as the "poor man's Pebble Beach" ... plenty of spectacular scenery. The course was pretty busy, so we were paired with another twosome ... honeymooners from Southern California.

Then, we had dinner (great food in a great environment) at the Red House Cafe in downtown Pacific Grove; that's a place where we'll definitely be back.
