|Whilst on the train heading for Rome we met Jim and Lisa from San Diego, who boarded in Florence. We had a great chat with them and hope to keep in touch ......We arrived in Rome at 3:00 p.m. and the challenge of finding our hotel began. First we wandered around the train station Termini, trying to find the tourist info booth. Apparently it was hiding behind binario 24. After locating it we got directions to take the bus......those dreaded directions.......go back across the station (to where we already once were) and catch the number 86 bus and get off at stop "Via Po" and walk to your hotel......seemed simple enough....We got to the buses and found that you couldn't buy tickets on the bus. I had to walk back into the train station and find a tabacchi and buy the tickets.....we then boarded the bus and were on our way....Via Po was three or four stops from the terminal. We got to Via Po and got off the bus and checked our map and started walking in what we thought was the direction of the hotel but couldn't find anything......we retraced our steps and checked our map again and discovered that Via Po was a long street and that we needed to get off at the third stop along Via Po.....something that the gal at the tourist info booth neglected to tell us....never the less we finally made it to the Grande Hotel Beverly Hills at 5:15 p.m..... hooray!!!!!!!
