At Rutherglen van park

Friendly ducks - note wild one at watering hole

We like it here. Small (only) park on a lake. Good grassy sites, no noise.

Visited Browns, St Leonards & All Saints just to see what is happening. Picked up a bottle or two for Xmas.

Like it enough we stayed longer than planned. Interesting collection of ducks. Mostly wild but a few looking rather domestic.

Fascinating feeding them at the lake, throw bread and around 50+ ducks gather. Notice a lot (100+) of odd pointy black things also gather. When water is still, we can see that they are the beaks of long neck tortoises just putting nostrils above water. Not seen this before. Ducks come out of water but very rare to see a tortoise.

Finish planning for Dec/Jan.

1. Leave van with friends at property at Kotupna (near Kyabram).

2. Farewell son at property in Bittern on Mornington Peninsula. Find that closest available motel is Frankston. Everything on peninsula booked out for weddings on the weekend 4/5 Dec.

3. Stay Dec & 1/2 Jan with daughter in Croydon while visiting assorted doctors, Veterans Review Board, Occupational Therapist - as well as having Xmas lunch with family.

4. Make up mind where we are going next. No plans are fixed for more than a day or so.
