|Sunday, 12 August, Arrived into Denali park area from 5 days in Homer earlier today to low fog and rain! Plan to stay 2 days so we can take a bus shuttle tour tomorrow to view wildlife and some of the interior of the park. Weather is not encouraging...Friday is the earliest fog, rain and etc will subside. May have to buy postcards to actually see Mt. McKinley...lol. Regarding Homer...no fish, but we had a wonderful visit! Weather terrific, spent an evening at the Salty Dawg...met an interesting couple from Maui over drinks, got caught up with groceries..thank you Safeway, housework and laundry during our 5 days at the Homer Spit Campground...on Katchemak Sound, took a water taxi tour across Katchemak Sound to Otter Cove for a gourmet lunch at the Rookery, photoed whales from the boat, but the water was so choppy those photos will take sometime before we can add them to the journal...very blurry. Also Bob fished nearly everyday at the "local fishing hole" with no success...seems the silvers are trickling in with the main run due August 15 til 1st of September. Bob is planing on returning to Valdez after this trip to Denali, Fairbanks and the North Pole to fish for silvers at Allison Point. The adventure north continues...
