Micklegate - Entrance to City of York

Today, we packed up all of our things and headed for York. We took the 205 bus from Paddington to King's Cross Station where we boarded the train which took two hours to get to York. We found accomodation at York Backpackers at historic Micklegate House for £38, a pretty good deal!! Staying at the hostel was OK....the bed left alittle to be desired.....and left us with sore backs....never-the-less we are fine and got the chance to use the laundry facilities at the hostel to wash a few things. After checking in we took a stroll along the wall of the city (or at least a part of it) and enjoyed the sights of York, including the York Minster (a cathedral, the River Ouse, the entrance gates to the walled city at Micklegate, among other historic buildings, etc. We stopped to have dinner in The Priory, one of the many English Pubs around York, in which to do so. Until next time.....
