Our most northern destination of the North Island was Cape Reinga. On route, we stumbled across a kauri museum showing some amazing products of sculptures and furniture. The kauri tree is now protected as during the logging trade, 99% of the forestry was cut down for production. The wood in this museum has been used from old Kauri tree's whose stumps have been dug from the ground and which dates back 45,000 years.
We finally got to the tip, Cape Reinga which contained a lighthouse, breathtaking views and a toilet block!
