Mark's Trip 2007 travel blog

We departed today at 9:00 am and headed to Wellington via Okakune, Taihape and Bulls. We arrived in wellinton about lunch time and had the afternoon to explore. Myself and Neil decided that as it was a nice day to go on the tram ride which takes you up to a viewpoint giving great views of the city. Whilst there we had a quick look around the tram museum and the observetory gardens. On returning to the centre we headed accross to view the parliment buildings, one of which resembles a behive.

After this we headed down to the quay and walked round this on our way to Te Papa which is New Zealands National museum covering about 6 floors with free entry. As we did not have much time we covered the museum in about an hour whereas it is reccomended to take all day! We even managed to get to the earthquake simulator which was my main reason for going.

I then headed back to the hostel via the supermarket, cooked food and did my laundry. In the evening we headed to the hostel bar inb the basement for a few drinks.
