The Elephant Rocks

Filmed some of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" here

Buscot Station Backpackers, Omarama

Owner Tony Gloag and Rudy (Germany) at Buscot Station

From the coast, it was back inland to Omarama. Enroute I stopped at the Elephant Rocks where they filmed some of the Chronicles of Narnia, and I spent the night at Buscot Station...a backpacker set on an 80,000 acre sheep and cattle station. Owner Tony Gloag is a long-time farmer and had some very strong feelings about how the government should be managing public lands. Let's just say when he got to the point in the conversation where New Zealand could go the way of Zimbabwe I tuned out. Prozac anyone?
