This will be our final entry.
At the moment, Myles is in Courtenay, BC. I am in Calgary, Alberta. How did we get to be where we are? On a sunny, hot and humid morning in Vientiane, Laos on February 16th we learned that Myles' older brother, Mitchell, passed away. His passing was a shock to the entire family, and left the two of us floating on autopilot. We caught an overnight train to Bangkok that night. A few hectic days later we were on a flight to Vancouver, arriving on February 21st, with just a couple of days to spare before the funeral.
Mitchell was only 46 years old, and left 4 incredible children, Nova, Evan, Amanda and Dove. He was a great father, son, brother and friend. His funeral service was filled with people whose lives he touched. He was remembered for a lot of things, but most of all for his big heart.
Myles plans on staying in Courtenay for several months in order to help his mom get through this difficult period. I am staying in Calgary for the time being. We found ourselves home quicker than we thought. Our trip ended abruptly, but our journey continues.
We hope everyone is doing well.
