Sunset Panorama at Mt. Cook...

From Wanaka, we headed up to Moutn Cook National Park. This is basically on the back side of the Franz Josef Glacier, but the Southern Alps range is so rugged the two places are at least 8 hours away by car even if only a few miles asd the crow flies.

We stayed in the Camper Van for 2 nights here and had some fantastic hikes. The first day we went up to the Mueller Hut...a trail that gained over 1 Km in height while coverin g just 2 Km in distance. So, yeah, it was STEEP, but getttin to the top it was all worth it.

The next morning, we walked the Hooker Lake trail out to a glacial lake...also beautiful.
