Karen and Larry's 06-07 winter adventure travel blog

we left Lakeport at about 8:45 a.m. which is the earliest departure time for us so far. It took us 3 hours on Highway 20 to reach I-5 at Williams, a distance of about 55 miles. Slow going because of winding road and construction.

But wait!!!

We hit I-5 at Williams at 12:45 p.m. and arrived in Bakersfield at 6:45 p.m. We covered 430 miles of which 370 or so over the 6 hours driving on I-5, with only a few brief stops. What a difference a freeway makes.

We are staying at A Country RV Park in Bakersfield. From what we have seen so far, it is the best yet.

Will send pictures maybe tomorrow.
