Did you see Dick and Gail waving at y'all from the audience at the Grand Old Opry? Had a great time there and enjoyed all the music - mostly bluegrass the night we were there featuring Ricky Skaggs. We were in Nashville for three days and the first night the rv park had entertainment - a country singer of course, and a 14 year old boy from Oklahoma who played fiddle, plus a couple of park neighbors who sang too. We visited the Country Hall of Fame where we found a much younger Elvis mingling with a ton of country stars. We learned to talk Nashville "y'all" and found they speak it in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma too!
We moved on to Arkansas. Dick put it best: "Understand why Bill and Hillary didn't come back."
But Branson was a lot of fun. Stayed three nights in a nice rv park right in town. Saw the Mickey Gilley show; he sang a lot of his hit songs "Room Full of Roses", "That's All That Matters to Me", "Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time", and showed a lot of clips from the Movie "Urban Cowboy." Saw Andy Williams and Petula Clark too - much more sedate. Leaves on the trees are starting to turn in the Ozarks. Should be spectacular in a week or so. And we are heading west - eat your heart out, Larry. Overnight just outside Tulsa Oklahoma and plan to be in Oklahoma City tomorrow night. Our bad news: Rocky has fleas! Bathed him and put on Frontline, then sprayed the motorhome and the car and washed all his towels. Now he has no little friends!
