Stinks of sulphar (eggs), which I first thought was Terry.

Pretty little town with thermal pools everywhere even in the local park.

Nice little Motel with Jacuzzi, warm water swimming pool and Sauna, which has become an early morning and evening ritual.

Visited a Polynesian Spa with thermal pools overlooking Rotorua Lake, beautiful and up to 42 degrees.

Also visited a excavated buried village set in beautiful gardens. Gorgoeus sunny day, lovely tour.

Lots of walking to be done...

Agree with Jane except I thought it was her stinking...

Had a walk around the local park and saw lots of mud pools. Jane did a 'buried village' tour (billy village tour!) which sounded bit boring so I went for a drive to get great views of the local lakes.

Next day spent few hours walking in The Redwoods. Great views of the thermal areas and a huge geyser. Got bit lost for a while.

Up early on day we left to see lots of stuff between Rotorua and Taupo. Went to 2 thermal areas which were fantastic. Saw lots of geysers, bubbling pools, colourful terraces, beautiful lakes, and not many tourists !
