Well, it had to come to an end sooner or later, and after a year and a half of wandering round OZ, sunbathing, surfing, fruit picking, camping, fishing, working, drinking and drinking, we are finally headed for blighty!!! We left Melbourne at the end of March after a great 3 months of work and partying. Whilst down there we hit all the beaches, Sam surfed whenever and where ever he could, went to Philip Island and saw penguins, partied with celebraties in the best pub in the the world (The Espy), Ange's best mate came over from the uk for a visit, saw Formula 1 cars race round the Aussie GP, had dinner on a tram, blew cash in the casino and basically had heaps of fun!!!! We decided to head up to Sydney via the coast road this time round, which takes a bit longer but is well worth the views you get treated too!!! Part of the trip is known as the wilderness coast and you know why when your'e driving through coastal forest for 2 hours and don't even see another car or building!!! We spent our first two nights on the road at a place called Lakes Entrance, which is a mecca for fishing, surfing and all manner of water sports, aswell as dishing up some of Australia's finest and freshest seafood!!!!! It was a gorgeous place to stay and really enjoyed our time there, but unfortunately we were treated to a rare weather phenomonum of wind and sub 20 degree temperatures (it got as low as 17 degree's man!!) which we are SO not used to, and spent much of the time wrapped up in jeans/jackets/hats, playing mini golf and drinking in the local pub!!!! Our next destination was a coatal town called Ulladulla, again , famous for it's good surf. Once again, mother nature kicked us in the arse as she delt up waves to 25 feet and upwards, keeping Sam's and everybody else's feet well and truely on solid ground! It was an awe inspiring sight just to watch though, apparently the aftermath of a cyclone in Queensland further north.
Leaving Ulladulla the following morning, we were keen to get back to Sydney and it's more favourable weather, and were not dissapointed when we arrived. Sam ducked out straight away to his 'local' break we he scored some of his best waves yet in 23 degree temperature water, and in the evening we were treated to Vodka, Champagne and some other treats by are good Sydneysider friends and partied hard into the night.
Since then, we have just been chilling out. Ange has done a few days work, and we managed to sell our car which was great!! We were sorry to see him go, but lucky to sell him within 5 hours of advertising it, and for a profit of $1000!!!!! So all in all we are well and truely ready to head home. Well, there is a small matter of 6 weeks in Thailand along the way but we are back on June the 6th and look forward to catching up with everyone we left 2nad a half years ago!!! Next stop. 'Me love You Loooongg Tiiimeee'!!
