National Carillion with US War memorial in background

Parliament House, Canberra

Cockatoo

Black Swan

I didn't get to Botany Bay, the part that I wanted was difficult to get to using public transport so I went for a walk in the only remaining mangrove swamp in the area..very interesting, spiders with webs the size of dinner plates.

Spent this morning on a bus to the Capital City of Canberra, arriving at about 1230pm. Got great lodgings and walked back into the City and had a tour of the Houses of Parliament...free!!

Walked by the lake where they have a tower called the National Carillion which plays out music all day, but like bells.

Canberra is a purpose built and designed City that does not have the hustle and bustle of Sidney. For those who know Florida, it reminds me very much of Celebration ( that includes you Doug, by the way)

Seen my first black swan and had loads of cockatoo's flying over.

Will be here till Sunday evening, have been given a hot tip where I can find kangaroos
