Suspension bridge on the trek up to Rob Roy glacier

Rob Roy Glacier- now THAT'S a glacier!

Michael at the end of the trek

We stayed in Wanaka for two nights and did a day trip to Mt. Aspiring National park. The day was beautiful and warm, all set to see amazing views from our trek. Michael did the 4 hour trek up to Rob Boy glacier and was very happy to be able to walk distances again. The glacier was huge and beautiful with waterfalls coming off of it from every angle. It was above the tree line so seemed much mor 'Canadian' to us.

The road was mostly gravel to get there and we had to drive over cattle guards, drive through lazy herds of the beasts, and do a couple of small creek crossings to get to the start fo the trek. All very fun! Michael is getting his old motorcross skills back.
