20,000 leagues under the sky, 2004- travel blog

Not by my route.

Derelict or art?

To remind me where I was.

Slovaks have humour.

Another town square.

Front of Palace.

Frolicing behind it.

Toy soldiers infront.

Goverment building.

Old town from the castle.

14350km from Hong Kong.

15 hours in Western Europe was enough for a re-introduction so I popped over the border into Slovakia and back into Eastern Europe.

I think Bratislava is a summer place, it doesn't go well in cold and sleet although like many European capitals it certainly has lots of charm. It's a shame that the Soviets didn't have a Cultural Revolution too then I would have some decent Stalinist statues and buildings to photograph instead of another few dozen bloody churches.
