South East Asia - Winter 2012

Marie-France travel blog
Welcome to my new winter trip!

I'm taking a break from South America this year, and going back to the region that first gave me the travel bug: South-East Asia. I'm leaving on Dec 25, and over 9 weeks will be going through six countries, two of which are brand new for me: Cambodia and the Philippines. The others are Hong Kong (just briefly as my entry and departure point), Malaysia, Laos, and Thailand. Click on the Itinerary link (on the right) for more details.

Now that I have been to every continent, I can confirm that Asia is the most exotic and disorientating of all. I'm sure it will take me a little while to adjust, since I haven't been to the region in 15 years! This will be a trip with a few grand sights (the Petrona Towers, Angkor Wat, the rice terraces of Banaue) but mostly I'm planning to eat lots of delicious food, get cheap massages, take amazing photos, and hopefully, meet some interesting people along the way. I'm also meeting up with a few existing friends, and fitting in a little beach time. One thing is for sure: it will be HOT!

Please e-mail me at marie@bigtravelnut.com (for fastest response) or you can Leave a Message on this journal if you want. My sympatico account will be on hold once again.

P.S. For people who have been reading my trip journals over the last few years, you can see from my ID picture above, that I stopped aging in 2009. :)
