....Happy New Year....(3)

This morning we are making our way back to Sydney to ring in the new year. We have a 12:30 p.m. flight which gets us in to Sydney at about 5:00 p.m. and not much time to find a New Years Eve venue as we hadn't booked anything in advance. As the plane took off we managed to get a few pictures (although a little blurry thru the window of the plane) of the area around the Red Centre, unfortunately though, none of Uluru as we were sitting on the wrong side of the plane. As we approached Sydney we also snapped a few pictures of the coastline......after deplaning we made our way to our hotel, The Morgans of Sydney, located in the same area as our previous B & B and with a rooftop vantage point from where we could see the Harbour Bridge and the New Years Eve fireworks....the hotel had room for two more New Years Eve revellers! After getting settled we got ready for the New Years party and joined in the fun on the rooftop where the champagne flowed and canpes were served throughout the night....we met a young honeymooning couple, Clare and Marcel, from England and toasted the New Year with them while Sydney's spectacular fireworks lit up the night sky at midnight.....a weird thing though, no one bothered to stop and sing Auld Lang Syne....the DJ just continued playing music right on thru...if it hadn't been for the fireworks we might not have even known that the New Year had arrived. We continued to celebrate and chat with Clare and Marcel well past midnight...
