|Sunday afternoon we accidentally stumbled on the Cruiser Car Show while in Rapid City. It was pretty hard not to notice about 300 classics sitting with their hoods open along Main Street! We found a place to park not far from all the activity & walked a few short blocks. In addition to the many awesome cars there were food vendors, games & entertainment as well as a Bud Light Beverage Garden. A great band was performing in Main Street Square & we were sorry to learn that we'd just missed Elvis! Attendance was high and the weather made for a perfect afternoon outing for many local families & tourists too!
We spent an hour or more checking out the awesome vehicles. Every color imaginable! Wow, isn't it funny how a certain vehicle can bring back so many memories? Perhaps one owned by our grandparents, our parents, or the first car we ever owned? I'm especially partial to the 50-60's Chevy's as those were in my life during my high school & early adulthood years. If only they would bring back some of those cool body styles instead of the 'cookie cutter' models on the roads these days. I remember that guys were able to tear down & rebuild any part of what was under the hood.. Not the case anymore! Everything's computerized and requires special tools & diagnostic equipment now. I think they did that on purpose, don't you?
We would have stuck around longer but I wanted to get my prescription picked up so I could begin the 'regimen' sooner rather than later. And, I looked a bit weird, all swelled up in the eyes & face. My sunglasses were helping to hide a bit of it but I still felt uncomfortable. I'm happy to say that the swelling is nearly gone this morning. Wow, I hope whatever caused this issue doesn't return. Since the doctor's not quite sure what it was, it's hard to predict. The official cause of Angioneurotic Edema is unknown. And, it can occur within minutes.
Don't know if it was a bite from a spider (I got bit a few days earlier & it was red, swollen & painful), an allergic reaction, a sinus issue (never have that problem), or a sudden allergic reaction to a nutritional supplement or even the lose dose of Lisinopryl I take daily. Apparently that can happen, even if you've been taking it for some time. Anyway, enough said. I'm only addressing it because so many of you inquired on what brought it on so quickly.
After the car show we strolled down art alley & took some interesting pics.. But, I'll share those with you next time. I've got enough pics from the car show to post today. If you are a car enthusiast you'll be very happy. If not, you might be a bit bored! I think it's pretty darn wonderful that so many folks are willing to bring their 'baby's' together for all of us to enjoy, FREE of charge! Enjoy :)
