Driftwood building

With Peggy and Rich

Eagle

Part of the drive to Skagway we had done 8 years ago as part of the cruise, going by bus/train from Skagway to Carcross. But we enjoyed the scenery of rivers and mountains. However as we approached the border, the clouds lowered and we could see only about 100 feet so had to drive very slowly. It was raining hard in Skagway, but we had time to stop a quilt store (bought nothing) but bought some pillow covers for the living room at another store. The ferry was fun, how they parked us in so everyone could get out at the right stop. It was raining still and the clouds were low so didn't spend much time outside. A lady told me were to look for bears and eagles when we exited the ferry, so we went to look in this one area and saw nothing. Met with Ted's USAFA classmate and wife, Rich and Peggy for snacks before going to dinner on the waterfront. Then we all drove back to the area that was suppose to have bears and eagles, went much further down the road and saw eagles, fishermen and beautiful areas to camp but no bears. Saw where Ed and Mary had been camped but we missed them by a couple of days. Our hotel had an ocean view, but that is about all I can say for it. Went to bed early for tomorrow is our long drive day!
