Kelp fisherman in the low tide area at the Deer Island Ferry

Deer Island Ferry

Low tide view from our campground

Lighthouse at Letete

Fairmont Algonquin Lodge at St Andrews

We slept late and took a day of leisure. We drove into Black Harbour for lunch at a highly recommended fish and chips restaurant, Silver Seafood Restaurant, great diner with local flavor and excellent sea food. While in the area we went to one of the ferries to check the schedules for a trip to Deer Island but it was too late in the day to make the round trip. Travel by ferry is common around here as there are many, many islands with people depending on the ferries to get to their homes or to their work. There are also many scenic parks and famous homes on these islands. On the way back to our campground we found a beautiful Lighthouse at Letete, close to St George. It was picture perfect and the view was very good. It was low tide and you could easily see how drastic the tide change is here. We took a few pictures, one is a picture of a 4.5 star lodge in St Andrews (that we pass every time we leave the campground). We will leave for St John, tomorrow.
