We drove to the Glacier Transit Center this morning early, cranked up the generator in the parking lot and had our coffee and breakfast there. We caught one of the free shuttles (no transportation problems today, thank goodness) and got off at Avalanche Creek. Walked the Trail of the Cedars Hike up to Avalanche Gorge and falls. Then we hiked over to the Stream and I collected lots of rocks. I hope to get a tumbler when I get home and then teach myself to wrap them with wire to make some jewelry. Just what I need-another hobby! Ha We got back on the shuttle and went over to the Lodge on Lake McDonald and had lunch at the Pizzeria there. It was really nice. I was tempted to try the EMU they had on the menu but chickened (pardon the pun) out at the last moment. We took some photos at the lodge and the lake, hopped back on the shuttle and picked up the RV at the transit center. Took turns driving on VERY narrow roads and stopped at a few overlooks to take photos or switch seats behind the wheel. Tonight we are at a campground overlooking Lake St. Mary which is inside the eastern side of Glacier NP. Hope to check out this side of the park tomorrow, laundry the next am and head east.
