|We made our final trip back across the border today to finish up with my dental work. I am very pleased. They did a good job for about 1/3 the cost. A new crown, 2 porcelain fillings and a great cleaning for $345. Actually there was an additional $60 charge for a 'buildup', but $405 was still terrific. I think I paid over $600 for my last crown alone, and near as I can figure, that was over 15 years ago! My honey was wandering around town browsing while he waited, so the pictures today were all taken by him. Good job honey! Except for the ones he got of me in the dentist's chair. They had their blinds and window open, taking advantage of the lovely breeze, and my honey spotted me. Darn paparazzi! They find you everywhere, LOL!
Before my 1:30 appointment we took a few minutes for lunch at the same cafe we visited last Thursday. Very good again today. Afterward we browsed several of the shops looking for the perfect Mother's Day gift. And I found exactly what I was looking for! Yippee, my shopping is done. We also stocked up on some antibiotics etc as the cost is much lower here than in the states. A bottle of Tequila for brother Larry and the perfect stained glass window for our 5'er rounded out our day. I took a pic of it laying on the dining room table to give you a sneak peak, but will photograph it again after installation. Which I hope will be soon!
On our way back to town we stopped at the bank, got fuel and made a quick stop at the Wal-Mart. We needed window silicone for the stained glass job and we also purchased some supplies to clean our gray tanks while traveling to Casa Grande on Wednesday. On our way out the door I spotted a Redbox, you know, one of the movie rental booths. Our niece Cindy recommended that we see the movie Seven Pounds, starring Will Smith. I can't tell you anything about it or I'll give the ending away, but we consider this a must see. It was great!
Tomorrow we plan to give Onyx a bath and do a couple of loads of laundry before we get back on the road. And frankly, just take a breather. It seems like we ran and ran the whole time we were here. The weather was nice again today. Think we're going to beat all of the major heat.
One last thing, our son Jim is back in the hospital. He was suffering with flu like symptoms for many days so they put him back in for observation. Turns out, that in addition to fighting for recovery from his lung cancer surgery, he developed gallstones, and they had to remove his gallbladder Saturday morning. He also has a very large stomach ulcer that is giving him fits. A prayer or two for his speedy recovery would be greatly appreciated. Good night....
